Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. was founded on December 6, 1998, at the University of Houston by sixteen South Asian women who sought to create an organization that would support and uplift South Asian women. United by a shared vision of building community and connection, they established the sorority on the core pillars of Sisterhood, Respect, Loyalty, Honesty, and Friendship. The Founders aimed to foster unity while celebrating the richness of South Asian culture through meaningful community engagement and service.
